Over its 25 years of existence legendary New York City-based house music label Nervous Records has pretty much worked with all the major players in the international dance music community. They’ve done it all and seen it all. One of the major strengths of Nervous Records is a policy to devote equal time to the hottest sounds coming from both Europe and throughout the USA. Nervous is one of the only labels where you can get fresh new releases from international talent such as Chus & Ceballos, Lutzenkirchen, CJ Mackintosh and Chris Lake while at the same tame exploring some of America’s best legendary and regional artists from Frankie Knuckles, King Britt and Danny Krivit to Boris, Sydney Blu and Theo. Nervous Records paints a picture of the entire global house music scene.
Long Island, NY born and bred DJ Theo is a local favorite and one of America’s finest dance music
personalities. Theo cut his teeth locally as a radio DJ working at WLIR, WBLI and WXXP (which later became WDRE/Party 105), mixing on live broadcasts. At WXXP, THEO was hired by VIC LATINO as mixshow coordinator and eventually was named music director. (WDRE is a BDS-monitored station also broadcasting into Nassau County on 101.5FM.) Theo currently has his weekly dance mixshow on Sirius/XM Radio’s Electric Area channel entitled “All Love From NY.”
Given the similar interests between Theo and Nervous records it was only a matter of time before the two dance music powerhouses got together. Through the years, Theo and Nervous teamed up to deliver a powerful brand of compilations entitled “Summer Clubbing.” Themed around the Long Island/Hamptons party scene, Summer Clubbing is now on its fourth volume and its one of the most anticipated annual summer dance music releases. Carrying the party on from the summer to the fall, Nervous Records and Theo have launched School Of House – a brand new series catering to the college market and a whole new generation of fans.
THEO’s compilations have become famous for exposing exclusive club bombs, and bringing the spotlight to fresh new talent. School Of House is no different. Included are unreleased bombs from Norman Doray, Matthew Codek, Baggi Begovic and Flash Brothers, as well fresh remixes of classic Nervous hits like Ralph Falcon/I Need Someone and Chris Lake/Carry Me Away. SCHOOL OF HOUSE also includes exclusive club nuggets like a new remix of the club anthem “Finally” by Kings of Tomorrow.
In the media, THEO has appeared in a variety of print and online outlets, including: DJ Times, Remix, Club World, Musico Pro, Accent On Tampa Bay, Jive, The Southampton Press, The East Hampton Independent, The Miami New-Times, The Las Vegas Weekly, Las Vegas Citylife, Holmdel Happenings, Raves.com, Clubplanet.com, and many others. THEO has shared the bill with international superstars like Tiësto and David Guetta , has been invited to open up for STING and was selected twice to play for the NY portion of MOBY’s Area:One and Area:Two tours.
As of summer 2011, THEO has been seen and heard DJing regularly at the country’s finest nightclubs, including: Cielo (New York), Elevate (CT), Harrah’s Pool (Atlantic City), Neptune Beach Club (Hamptons, NY), Rise (Boston), Therapy (RI), Water Taxi Beach (Long Island City, NY), among other venues. While overseas with parties at Pacha (Ibiza) and Cafe Mambo (Ibiza).
